Efficiency-First Software Development
A new kind of software development company born at a ski area, combining the best software architecture with ultra-agile development and cross-platform implementation to bring big ideas to life.
Creators of innovative mobile apps, HeyGroop® and KinectedCare™.
Founded by Larry Luke, we focus on decentralized development, AI and cloud scale for faster time-to-profitability.
Ultra-Agile
At Steamboat Software, we set out to define Ultra‑Agile software development—an evolution beyond traditional agile methods. Our approach unites world‑class software architecture, decentralized teams, and cloud‑scale delivery to turn ideas into market-ready products faster than ever.
Small team. Short cycles. Nothing in the way.
Steamboat Software is an independent studio, so we keep full creative and strategic control of what we build. That lets us move at the speed of the idea and keep refining until the details are right.
Architecture first
Every app starts on solid software architecture, so it can scale fast as it grows.
Ultra-agile by design
A small, decentralized team with no layers of process. We change direction quickly and ship in short cycles.
Cloud-scale and AI
Modern cloud platforms and AI do the heavy lifting, so a small team delivers high-quality software faster.
Cross-platform, one standard
iPhone and Android get the same care and the same quality, from interface flow to backend efficiency.
Refined until effortless
Shipping is the start. We keep iterating until an app feels intuitive and performs beautifully.
Ultra-Private by default
No ads, no data harvesting, and we don’t sell your information. Privacy is part of the build, not an add-on.
Our Story
It started riding a chairlift on a cold, crisp day at Steamboat Ski Resort. How can you create a software company that can be managed on a ski lift? In the quiet and cold mountain air it became as clear as the winter sky.
The ‘aha moment’ happened that day. Create a 100% decentralized company and use cloud-scale infrastructure. This is the picture from that day. I skied to the lodge, grabbed a beer and a bowl of chili and secured the SteamboatSoftware.com domain.
