Ultra-Private is the standard every Steamboat Software app is built to. We don’t run ads, we don’t harvest your data, and we don’t sell your information. Your attention and your personal information are not our business model.
Three things we don’t do
They’re simple to say and hard to keep, so we make them part of how each app is designed, not a setting or an add-on.
No ads
Our apps don’t show advertising and don’t include advertising SDKs. Nobody pays us for your attention.
No data harvesting
We collect what an app needs to do its job and nothing to build a profile of you. You’re a user, not a data source.
Never sold
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it for marketing or advertising.

We make money by building apps worth paying for
Apps that show ads or sell data have to. That’s how they earn. We chose a different model: our apps are free to download, and we earn from in-app purchases and optional subscriptions, such as KinectedCare’s KinectedGuard safety layer. When the people using an app are also the customers, there’s nothing to gain from watching them.
It’s also why an independent studio can hold this line. We answer to the people who use our apps, not to advertisers or investors’ growth targets.
We practice it here too
This site has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking scripts, and it doesn’t ask you for anything to read it. Even our fonts and code are served from this site itself, so while you read it your browser talks to no one else. If you need us, support is by email.
What Ultra-Private is not
Ultra-Private is a promise about ads, data harvesting and selling. It isn’t a claim of end-to-end encryption, and we don’t make that claim for any of our apps. Each app’s privacy policy spells out exactly what it stores and why.
